A Word to the Wise

1-17-2015 – A Word to the Wise: A woman’s source is her spirit and her heart. The wisdom of either is equal but their purposes are different. Whereas the ultimate purpose for the man is to render justice, a woman’s wisdom provides protection to her family and community.

A Word to the Wise

1-10-2015- A Word to the Wise: So how does one obtain wisdom? Men and women acquire wisdom differently. Men, for the most part, depend on biblical studies to acquire wisdom. They do word studies, cultural analysis, linguistic searches, historical inquiries, and so on. These resources all lead to wisdom through use of the mind. Men will turn thoughts over and analyze them from different perspectives.  This analysis produces insight which the man disseminates through teaching.

1-7-2015 Now, this matter of faith is vital because authority, wisdom, and faith are tied together. Authority is the cornerstone upon which wisdom stands. From authority extends the fear of the Lord which is the foundation for wisdom.

1-5-2015 – St. James says a double-minded man receives nothing. He receives nothing because he can not make up his mind what he wants. He has not truly placed his faith in God’s ability and authority.

A Word to the Wise

12-30-2014 – St. James points out that wisdom is from God who gives to all men generously. Asking for wisdom is essential to obtaining it. James also says getting wisdom means asking in faith. One must believe God will give him what he is asking.

A Word to the Wise

12-23-2014 – Wisdom cannot be given to or taken from another. A teacher can impart knowledge but not wisdom. Wisdom literature does not give us wisdom. It points the way to wisdom and motivates us to seek it.

A Word to the Wise

12-20-2014 – Wishing for wisdom is not enough.  Wisdom is a treasure more precious than gold and silver.  One must search diligently if it is to be found.  Once obtained, it must be guarded judiciously.

About Exhorter’s

12-19-2014 –  Resolve to be a wise listener; Exhorter, Mercy, Giver, Organizer, Teacher, Server, or Prophet.

About Exhorter’s

12-13-2014 – I have found that to be true. Because I did not feel rejected but sat on the side the Lord has stored up many wise things from the those conversations and from counseling sessions. Sessions where I do not even remember who or what the problem was just the Lord’s answer.

About Exhorter’s

12-12-2014 – I always remember one of the things my mother warned me about, “always write it down child, you will forget and the insight will not come back for 10 years.”
