11-21-2017 – A Word to the Wise: My mother use to tell me that Satan does not waste his time with passive, neutral, indecisive people. They are not a threat to Satan so life is easy for them. Satan thinks, “Why bother with them?” The person who threatens Satan’s stronghold that is the enemy.

11-18-2017 – A Word to the Wise: It must have taken tremendous will power to obey the Father and not have intervened. If one angel could destroy 70,000 men in a little over 4 hours ( I Samuel 24:15, or 185,00 fully armed soldiers, in 8 hours (Isaiah 37:36) do you not think there were a host at the Fathers feet begging to be turned loose on mankind? Now that is real self-control!

11-17-2017 – A Word to the Wise:  But the real question that plagues the soul is more complex. Those 12 legions of angels did not know the intent of the Father. They did not know that Jesus was to die. Only Jesus and the Father knew. It had to be hidden from the Satan. So the actual question that plagues the soul is what did those angels experience when they saw the Son carrying the cross?

11-15-2017 – A Word to the Wise: Would it take 60, 000 angels to rescue Jesus? I suspect it would only take one.

11-14-2017 – A Word to the Wise: Jesus makes a unique statement in Matthew 26:53. He states that He could ask God for 12 legions, or about 6,000 angels to rescue him.  Certain questions present themselves.

11-11-2017 – A Word to the Wise: Human possessiveness is a misplaced sense of ownership. No one in any relationship owns another person. Man attempts to acquire ownership by glamorizing the idea of “belonging” in marriage or other relationships. The Lord never intended for men and women to belong to each other. God meant for a man and woman to function together in harmony as one, just as the parts of our body function in harmony. Possessiveness will cripple and eventually destroy all relationships. The deepest yearning in every human being is for a “sense of belonging” but it must be fulfilled in God. If it is displaced to a person it spawns much unhappiness.

11-10-2017 – A Word to the Wise:  At this point one might wonder, is anything mine? Yes, there is something which is ours; love, kindness, gentleness, and consideration, sent out from the heart, not to own, but to treasure, to hold close to our heart and kindle with our love and our respect, this is ours.

11-4-2017 – A Word to the Wise:  Just as we do not think of our arms and legs as “belonging” to us neither should we think of our mate as belonging to us rather, as being a part of us.

10-30-2017 – A Word to the Wise: However, the world denies God’s ownership of his creatures. Man attempts to acquire ownership by glamorizing the idea of “belonging” in marriage. The Lord never intended for men and women to belong to each other. God meant for a man and woman to function together in harmony as one just as the parts of our body function in harmony. This is the mystery of the “one flesh.” It was to make vivid harmony and the togetherness of cooperation; not of ownership.

10-28-2017 – A Word to the Wise: Perhaps the most telling indictment of jealousy comes from Proverbs 27: 4 when the writer says, “Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming; but who can stand before jealousy?” The only productive biblical examples to be found of jealousy are those expressions of God’s toward his creation.
