7-8-2016 – The Dallas Police Reserve Foundation needs your help. During the course of the shooting last night these are the alerts sent to Reserves:
UPDATE: The Dallas Police department has gone to Alpha Bravo 12 hour shifts. There are no assignments for Reserves currently and not enough equipment for full-time officers. Per Chief Brody, you should standby and if we are needed we will contact you with more details.
The reality they needed 60 Reserve officers to report to the substations to answer calls for service all over the city since the downtown area was flooded with officers because of the shooting. Why could they not respond? THE CITY IS OUT OF VEHICLES.
Sixty Reserve officers sat at home dressed for action because of the lack of equipment.
If you watch any of the news channels they continually reported calls for service, shooting, robberies, break ins that were occurring all over the city and response was exceedingly slow. This has been going on for months. The Reserves need their own vehicles so as not to drain what few resources of the city. The problem is each of these fully equipped vehicles cost $60,000. If you are able to help, donations should be sent to: Dallas Police Reserve Foundation, 5100 North O’Connor Blvd., Irving, Tv, 75039.
All donations are tax deductible
Reserve Officer, Dr. Jerry Stettheimer, R031
