10-26-2024 – A Word to the Wise – Sometimes, we tend to forget the importance of things occurring in the womb. We readily accept now that alcohol or drugs have a profound negative effect on the fetus. This knowledge overshadows the positive things that occur during pregnancy.
For example, soft, gentle music has a profound effect on the fetus, so much so that the newborn child, for many months after birth, is affected in a positive manner with less crying and disturbed behavior.
It is my contention that the gospel songs of the 18th and 19th centuries affect the spirit of the child not only for the first few months but throughout the life of the child. The child hears that music ringing its soul, and it tends to soothe and guide the child.
